CASE EXAMPLE
Waste-to-energy plant, Finland

Sofi Filter® combined with reverse osmosis purified the condensate water at Tammervoima plant for re-use in the local district heating network. Energy recovery was increased and the need for make-up water from the local water supply network was decreased leading to both increased revenue and decreased costs.

The prior practice was to discharge the scrubber water resulting in energy loss.

  • Flowrate 7-17 m3/h

  • Temperature 85℃

  • Feed solid concentration 10-20 mg/l

Result: Increase in plant energy output up to 10%.

CASE EXAMPLE
District heating plant, Finland

Sofi provided an SF200 filter as a turnkey solution to Loviisan Voima plant. The filter aims at removing fine solids such as rust and other various precipitates accumulated in the district heating network.

Measuring the concentration of solids in the network water is not necessarily very common, and the accumulation of solids in the network may go unnoticed. However, in terms of the efficient and reliable operation of the network, it is essential that the circulating water remains clean.

"We have been using Sofi filter for years. You can't even notice its operation, but I've seen firsthand how it keeps our district heating network clean," sums up Antti Köngäs, operation and maintenance manager at Loviisan Voima.
