In May 2023, the first-ever Sofi Filtration Scientist joined our team. Elsi Strand joined us to dig deep into the fundamental phenomena at play within our filters so that we can keep driving capacity and address even the toughest of separation challenges for our customers.
“It is still not too common that a small business would hire a scientist, or even a professional with a doctoral degree. The disciplined and highly systematic approach of trained researchers is, however, central in technology studies and development. We must be the best experts when it comes to our technology. We warmly welcome Elsi and the skills and dedication she brings into the team”, explains CEO Riina Salmimies.
Elsi holds a doctoral degree from LUT University, where she defended her thesis titled “Enhancement of ultrafiltration process by pretreatment in recovery of hemicelluloses from wood extracts” in 2016. Elsi’s background is a great fit for us as we proceed in developing our filtration offering and work with our customers in addressing their filtration needs.
