Sofi Filtration has won the recognition prize from the problem holder Ence – Energía & Celulosa in the EIT InnoWise Scale Competitions 2022. CTO Ville Hakala pitched the Sofi filtration technology in the finals of the innovation competition on November 22, 2022, attracting the attention of the member of EIT Manufacturing and the problem holder Ence – Energía & Celulosa. “It is evident that demand exists for more sophisticated water treatment solutions that address increasingly complex separation problems and promote water recycling and conservation in the industry. Our Sofi Filter® enables our customers to decrease the quantity of solids in their recirculation waters so to ensure that production runs smoothly without interruptions or quality issues”, explains Hakala.
The EIT Community Water Scarcity, led by EIT Food in collaboration with EIT Climate-KIC, EIT Digital, EIT Manufacturing, Athena Research Centre, BIOAZUL, and Tu Delft, is a multisectoral and multidisciplinary initiative designed to alleviate water scarcity in Southern Europe. InnoWise Scale is the activity within the EIT Community Water Scarcity supporting startups, scaleups, and SMEs working on innovative products or services enabling better water management, optimizing water supply and demand, and fostering climate change readiness of the European economy.
