Sofi Filtration’s Board of Directors has appointed Riina Salmimies (38, D. Sc. (Tech)) as Chief Executive Officer as of Oct 1, 2022. Previously, Riina Salmimies held a position as dean of the School of Engineering Science at LUT University.
Salmimies has a background mainly in mineral processing technology, and she held various management positions between 2014 and 2022. She was the director of research services at LUT University 2014-2016, CTO of Endev Oy 2018-2019, and dean at LUT University 2018-2022. She holds a Master’s degree in business and a doctoral degree in chemical engineering unit operations, and she did her doctoral work on ceramic disc filters.
She first became familiar with the Sofi filtration technology in early 2010 at a European filtration conference and has held a Board membership in Sofi Filtration since July 2022.
“Salmimies possesses the necessary technical skills and has demonstrated effective leadership capacity in her previous positions. Her drive to grow Sofi’s business and systematically look for opportunities for improvement will benefit the company going forward”, describes chairman of the Board Tuomo Rönkkö.
